Prada is an Italian fashion company known worldwide for it's clothing and handbag lines and even shoes. Originating out of Italy, it was founded in 1913 by Mario Prada. Current leadership is provided by Mario's granddaughter, Miuccia Prada. Throughout New York,San Francisco and Los Angeles, you will see thousands of people showing off their Prada wear and milions more have some kind of Prada at home in their closet, even if it may be just a "Proda" knockoff purse.
Because of what they stand for and their relatively simple symbol design, Prada bags are a preffered target for counterfeiting.Normally, counterfeit bags are sold in flea markets, small stores, and on the internet on auction sites. In June of 2006, a man who had purchased three Prada handbags from a Sam's Club store in Kentucky sued Sam's Club parent company, alleging that the bags were fake. He had given two of the bags to his wife and one to his sister, who lived in Italy. When his sister's bag began falling apart, she took it the Prada factory near her; they informed her the bag was counterfeit. Never the less, Prada handbags have become a classic. Going through ups and downs, the once small italian business has found it's way to the top of the fashion world. Having made a series of faulty acquisitions through the 90s in material of fashion houses, Prada is still recovering from the debt. Many designers like the Prada designs so much that they create almost similar looking ones and this has proven to be a good choice. Going up from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. Prada releases a wide selection of purses and handbags every season and they fit a variety of individual styles women crave to express. It is considered a treasure to own Prada.
